The collection has 36 books in the set. Each book encourages the young children to have grip of 'keywords' in English language, in a fun and an exciting way. This builds confidence in children when they recognise these key words on sight (also known as the 'look and say' method of learning). Examples of key words are: the, one, two, he. There are 12 levels, each with 3 books: a, b, and c. Series a: Gradually introduces new words. Series b: Provides further practise of words featured in the 'a' series. Series c: Links reading with writing and phonics. All the words that have been introduced in each 'a' and 'b' book are also reinforced in the 'c' books.

Book 1a introduces Peter and Jane in 16 new words including 'and', 'I', 'likes' and 'has'.

Book 1b follows on from 1a and introduces 16 new words, including 'toys', 'has', 'trees' and 'ball'.

Book 1c continues Peter and Jane's adventures and introduces 20 new words such as 'ball', 'shop' and 'toy'.

In book 2a, Peter and Jane are having fun at the beach in 27 new words including 'look', 'to', 'go' and 'yes'.

Book 2b is all about the things Peter and Jane like, and introduces 27 new words including 'you', 'want', 'look' and 'jump'.

Book 2c follows Peter and Jane on a fishing trip and introduces 27 words such as 'sweets', 'jump' and 'fish'.

Book 3c encourages writing skills and introduces 36 new words such as 'rabbit', 'flowers' and 'train'.

In book 4a, Peter and Jane explore different activities in 42 new words including 'then', 'house', 'make' and 'read'.

In book 4b, Peter and Jane meet the animals at a farm in 41 new words including, 'work', 'thanks', 'stop' and 'horses'.

Book 4c provides the link with writing for the words used in readers 4a and 4b.

In book 5a, follow Peter and Jane on a fun day out in 46 new words including 'soon', 'said', 'pull' and 'talk'
