Jules Verne would have liked the notebooks in the Vintage Pictorial Writer's Notebooks set from Galison Green, although to him the images would have been contemporary, not vintage! The cover of each notebook has a faint background of an English translation of a French novel from 1896 on which the label NOTEBOOK and paintings of vintage pocket watches, a globe and compass, or a hot air balloon have been superimposed. The watch image notebook has lined pages and on the back cover, a Leonard Bernstein quotation: "To achieve great things, two things are needed: a plan and not quite enough time." The globe journal has blank pages and a Mark Twain admonition: "Dream, explore, discover." The hot air balloon has continental style graph paper and the words of Henry David Thoreau: "The world is but a canvas to our imagination."
